Do you need background buildings (houses) for the layout?

Great tip John.  I try to keep my eyes open and my imagination flowing for opportunities like that.

Anybody notice my double decker gond shown in the 3rd photo?

I saw this on a LIRR work train and duplicated it from a junker in my scrap box. No damage is done to the bottom gond

That item, forum post above, is sold btw. I am offering it on the familiar auction site, listed as backdrop, o scale, which is similar, a few blemishes. I will sell to any forum member at a 15% discount of the listing price.
The first photo shows how it will look installed on Gunrunnerjohn’s freight yard. The other 2 images show early in progress proposals to John.

I thought so too.  I found it at Dollar Tree.

I would not use it in front, but in the background it is OK. A fun little project on a 90 degree plus day too
