Does anyone know how Nassau Hobby Center is doing after Hurricane Sandy? | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Just concerned if there was alot of damage to this favorite hobby shop. Electric power is out in the Freeport, NY area. Just wondering. Be safe.

We are fine and opened for business. I am in Las Vegas but will be in the store Saturday. Freeport has it's own electric and we are quite busy being the only train/hobby shop open. The water front area was destroyed but will rebuild. My own home is 16 feet above sea level and only 2 blocks from the bay and was unharmed except for no electrcity. Vhris and the gang are hard at work and if you get bored stop in for a kit or something. My prayers go out to all those who did not due as well as us.

I am back in NY and at the store. Just toured the waterfront. We have a lot of work ahead rebuilding. We are 100% thanks to Freeport Electric!

Great to hear you, your family and the store are ok! We are 15 ft above sea level and are ok except for no power but that we can handle.
