Had this kit from a while back that I wanted to finally install in a cab-less Rail King F-3 chassis. I had a Lionel PW cab that I had painted to my Boston & Maine colors that I wanted to modify for the MTH chassis. All went well with the "Frankenstein" conversion, except, I could no longer find MTH's Proto downloadable sound files to finish the job? I found some info that only "Protsound2.com" was the only place to find the files? I was surprised at their spelling, so I tried it, and also tried putting the "o" in proto, but neither worked. I have some diesel files on my computer that in a pinch I will try to load in to my project. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you!

You can normally find them all on the www.mthtrains.com, however the web site seems to have a little problem and the search box is missing! Once they fix the website, you can search for an F3, then pick RailKing, and finally the catalog year, for 3V files I look 2004 to around 2011, for 5V files, 2000 to 2003.
Did u trying looking it up from the item mth number then you can select support and see what sound files show up or upgrade kit files as well
No, I didn't, as the "kit" was universal and did not specify an MTH number. But, thank you for the reply!!! I may just try and program the project with any diesel PS2 file I already have on my computer. Hey, it's worth a shot, right?
Thanks,
Joe
You can not look up the MTH number. MTH changed the web site and that very helpful feature disappeared.

I sure hope that's not a permanent change, because it really sucks now!
Looks like all the former links to products is down as well! I searched with Google on several known good MTH product numbers, and the search just hangs and never completes. It used to pop up results that I could go directly to a product page.
Looks like they've suffered a major web meltdown, it's pretty inconceivable that they'd remove all that information for no reason.
Yup GRJ, it’s permanent! Came out nice with the cab switch too! I haven’t had the opportunity, but I’m confident it’s not dead in the water!
Thanks, Joe
Thanks GRJ, I’ll give them time to get back online, or not!
best, Joe
Joe, I was talking about the MTH website, not your project!
Just got an answer back from MTH, website broken, they're fixing it.
Thanks GRJ & all contributors, I used the one diesel file I had on my computer! It’s a go, at least until I can download a more suitable one!
thanks again! Joe
