Clean pants, clean shirt, and footwear.
Seriously, no, there's no dress code. Wear whatever you're comfortable in ... but please do wear clean pants, clean shirt, and footwear.
Stu
Lol. Clothes and deodorant please
Yes, don’t be undressed,….
Pat
Hopefully wearing clothing that is clean and deodorant. Seriously, wear comfortable shoes, comfortable pants (I wore sweats or jeans) and whatever top and you are fine. Just don't wear a T shirt that is going to cause blood pressure to rise, you know, like 'DCC is a real option" or "I run my trains on battery power" or "The new Base 3 app is the real command control" and you will be fine *lol*.

Given the bodies on most of the people going to train shows.....
Well, I guess that was a ridiculous question, However better to be safe than embarrassed. Since it is my first York, I didn't want to be run out on a rail for wearing a boat or airplane shirt. Thanks guys.

Walmart casual.
Black tie after 6.
No tassel loafers.
Skirts at or below the knee.
No thongs.
No kilts unless you're secure in your masculinity or can prove Scottish heredity.
Red hats at your own risk.
Sidearms checked at the door.

This has gotta be the hands down funniest honest question about the Meet.

It’s a fair question……remember, not too long ago, I used to come straight from work with my bow tie on…….
I think the most important item is comfortable footwear for walking…..
Peter
Doesn't the bow tie come off easily?
My daughter says Train people at the shows are the world's worst dressers

And who can forget that classy train-theme suit worn by Lou Redman, Mr. TCA (CM-3)

Don't let us having a little fun at your expense put you off, it's all in jest! Welcome to your first York, I'm sure you'll have a great time. If you're there on Thursday evening, by all means stop by the Quaker Steak and join the OGR bunch.
No Cropdusters!
Deep pockets.

...and seriously, have you ever been to a train show? Well, thanks for being a good sport with all the teasing- hope you're having a great time!

Please shower first. Then the clean clothes and deodorant.
I will be easy to spot. Just look for the guy with gray hair, could lose a couple of pounds, wearing a train-themed baseball cap and t-shirt, with a glazed look on his face. Please come up and introduce yourself, but since I'll be in a daze, don't startle me.
Gun Runner John, As an old politician, I have thick skin. That post generated some great comments and I took no exceptions. And for sure I know now what the dress code is. Even better LOL
Here's a semi-serious thought, although not really a dress code issue, but more of an accessory...
There is a certain amount of ridicule towards having a price guide sticking out of your pocket, or quoting guide values when evaluating a potential purchase. Using a guide to track your inventory is OK, but how are the cool kids going to know that's what you're doing and you're not using it to check prices?
Ah, yes..."great works of fiction" ...the price guides.

You’ll need thick skin when you forget the arrow flows on the floor,……it wouldn’t matter what clothes you wear, ….but good googly moogly don’t get caught by the “arrow cops” …..😁
Pat
Wearing clothes with large pockets filled with money absolutely required, along with a large sign saying "New Guy Looking For Instant Collection". You'll find a ton of new friends eager to help you.

Above everything else, make sure you have very comfortable walking shoes as there is a lot of walking involved. Sit whenever you need to sit down to rest your feet, you won't regret it.

Whenever I hear from the "ARROW POLICE" I'm tempted to use this line on them...
Jerry
Seriously, how about an OGRR cap. I'll wearing one (and a few other clothes). LOL
