Final restoration of the Ruined River tipple, now complete with the trestle to Suffolk and beyond, was finished late last week, as these photos document.

Buildings and detailed touches will be added to the Suffolk scenes in the coming few months (e.g., Planters Peanut factory, a building supply company, a fresh seafood shipper, and Lipton Tea plant).  The trackwork is fully operational now, with grateful thanks to George Lasley for his genius and masterful construction, and also to Steve at Ross Custom Switches for fast shipment of two critical track components.

Stay tuned!

Once I got everything weathered lightly the scene came back together.  I had to replant some trees (JTT, they are wonderful trees) and add some ground cover.  Also added a service road to connect with the off camera highway so the VIRGINIAN lettering on the bridge make sense.  The catenary poles await wire but that is a project in itself. I will really have to be in the right mood to tackle it.  It won't be working as there are no electrics on Will's roster.  Would be nice if someone made a set of VGN Jackshafts in O.  I know Lionel made the rectifiers but they are too short and 2 axles short.  The view is quite spectacular when the train flys out on the flyover to get to the city scene.  More on that when it gets built.
