Hi All DZ-2500 Customers,
We have found that the non-derailing wiring for the DZ-2500 can lead to potential problems. It seems that a derailment on the area of the DZ-2500 connected for non-derailing can cause the DZ-2500 to permanently malfunction. When the switch machine is thrown, it immediately snaps back to the original position. This can be fixed by returning it to Z-Stuff to have the microprocessor replaced - very annoying. We have found that be adding diodes in-line with the GREEN and YELLOW wires, the failure is prevented. Just place a 1N4001 (or equiv.) between the isolated rail and the GRN wire and the same for the YEL wire. The end of the diode with the white stripe should be at the isolated rail end.
Sorry for the needed addition, but better safe than sorry.
