Found a 1943 Cyclopedia and I enjoy just paging through it but at 1200+ pages it is too hard to carry around. Is there an electronic version somewhere. thanks Ed

Not to my knowledge. I assume you are referring to the "Locomotive Cyclopedia", however I don't believe there ever was a 1943 issue, as they were generally produced every three years, and I have a 1941real one, a 1944 (reproduction/reprint by Kalmbach Publishing), plus a 1944 real one, (I previously owned the 1947 issue, but somebody wanted to purchase it from me, so I sold it to him).
OK, that explains it. You didn't specify WHICH "Cyclopedia" you had. The "Car Builders Cyclopedia" volumes were also published every three years (as best as I can remember" however, they generally were NOT the same years as the "Locomotive Cyclopedia".
Found this on ebay has anyone bought this? Did someone get the rights to cut up a book and scan each page?

You might want to contact Simmons-Boardman Publishing Co., and inquire about that disk.
Probably in the public domain at this point...
