The engine in question is MTH Rail King 30-2976-1 GP-20. On our layout at the museum someone overfilled the smoke fluid on this engine and it it quit working properly. I took the engine home,  disassembled cleaned everything inside, lubricated the engine and reassembled. Put the engine on my home layout applied power to the track fired up the DCS controller, recognizes the engine and away we went around the entire layout, no problems. Took the engine back to the museum put engine on the track, (no other engines are on any tracks at this time) applied power, tried to use (THE APP)  on an Android pad and (no joy) engine not found. So tried to use (The APP) on an Iphone still (no joy) engine not found. (Scratching head) removed engine put another engine on the track used (The APP) on the Android pad engine found fire right up. Tried a second engine and that one also fires right up with (The APP). Hummm, put the GP-20 back on the layout pick up the DCS controller and (Boom) engine found fires right up. This is a first, why would the APP not recognize the engine, but the DCS handheld will. Checking to see if anyone else has experienced this phenomenon. Thanks for an help you can give.
