I have a PS3 #765 that does not seem to like my iPhone 13 being used for DCS control. Everytime I would try to add the engine, I would lose internet connection with the TIU and have to cycle everything off and back on. It never would recognize the engine. Originally I had thought it was an issue with the engine, but after having an experienced MTH repairman look it over, he concluded there was nothing wrong with the engine itself. He said it may be a ground issue with my layout and to try adding jumpers between the outside rails. After doing so (temporarily) I still wasn’t able to get it to work. It only worked when I switched back to using my old iPhone 6s to run DCS. I’m not entirely sure what the difference would be, where the older iPhone works and the new one doesn’t. None of my other DCS engines have any issues being ran with my iPhone 13. Just the 765.

Has anyone else had this sort of issue before? I’m at a loss as to what the reasoning is behind it.

Is the engine already added into your older I phone ?  If so. Start it up and move to the approximate location as to where you are trying to add it with your newer phone and do a track signal test. If the number is on the low side. Move the engine around the layout till you find a spot with a 10. Shut the engine down and try adding it to your phone from that spot. Don’t panic if you get a No Engine to Add message. Just let it keep looking. They usually add. It seems on some loco’s you need a real good signal to add. But you can get by with a lesser one for normal running. I believe your tech. wanted you to jumper the outside rails to get better signal strength.

I don’t believe that is the problem as my signal is good around the layout, and especially where I was attempting to add it from. But yes the engine was added into both phones already. However when it wouldn’t work with the new one I deleted it and tried adding it back - didn’t work obviously.
