Over the last couple days one or two engines per day go inactive and can’t be re-activated. Some PS2 some PS3. Deleted those engines and they can’t be found to add. Running Wi-Fi with a six month old TIU and iPhone 11. wifi signal in train room is strong running on average 400Mbps.Tried resetting TIU but says not successful. Reset WIU. Tried both home and MTH Wi-Fi, same result. The surviving engines show a signal strength of 10. Have been running trouble free for months, no changes to layout, then..........

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Just for my info, was there a derail or any event that tripped a breaker or similar?

1 or 2 engines a day went to inactive X a couple of days = ? just how many engines?

Did you report the issue to MTH thru the app?

Did you get a new piece of powered equipment like a TMCC or Legacy engine? Pass cars with lights? Any wiring changes?

Do the inactive ones run with just a transformer and no DCS signal?

Is your app up to date with the latest release? Do you own the DCS remote?

Is your layout just on channel #1 fixed? Have you tried a different channel? Is the TIU powered thru the aux power in?

Have you tried adding back on a test track with the layout disconnected? I did read that you attempted engine resets.

You have to do the testing as we're not there. So there's a lot more missing info than what you've stated. If we can guide you to test stuff, we'll move forward here. We have to guess as to what happened for you.

Using premium app. Two engines the first time, one engine the second. No breaker trips. No TMCC. On channel one. Have not tried another channel or a test track yet. TIU  not powered with Aux. Do have a remote. Will unpackaged and try that. Will follow up after testing, thanks.

So the engines don't disappear right? They just go to inactive and the real issue is you can't get them back to active?

Are the batteries in the PS2 engines good?

I suggest trying the remote as it operates slightly different than the app does. You may get clues on what's wrong with those engines stuck in the inactive list.

If the engines were still in the remote, press the read button on the remote. That should re-associate them to the TIU.

When I delete an engine from the system, I expect it to add right back to it's last address. Sometimes that's the very issue that's the problem. If a consist of engines was built and put in that address, the system can do what you're seeing. It should move the engine's address but for whatever reasons, it appears to lose them. The remote will flash engine error sometimes. The app has come back with a different generic message like "TIU not found" sometimes or similar.

The fact that you tried to reset the TIU and got "unsuccessful" has me guessing what's up? So maybe the remote can help here?
