Great video Eric. Very clear and easy to follow. It should be required viewing for everyone who owns a Legacy system.
Nicely done Eric! I've made a few of these but not since the WiFi LCS module has come out.
The only thing I could add to your video is the link to the upgrade page. Lionel does a heck of a job hiding it.
Eric, very good video! Some folks seem to be intimidated by the process of making update modules. Hopefully, your video will give them a comfort level with what is really a simple process.
Cheers!
Keith
Agreed Eric, best video on the black module upgrade process I've seen. But correct me if I am wrong. I am a Mac only person. So, unless I buy a PC laptop or something to download the current OS and wanted to buy the new GG1, I could not raise or lower the pantographs with my CAB2? Any other features on it that require the upgrade?
Good job ERIC. Thanks for an informative video.

Depends on what version you're at now.

PeterA - short answer is YES. I am 99% certain that you need a Windows platform and Mac will not allow you to do upgrades to Legacy software. I think MTH is the same from memory. Having said that, several larger Lionel dealers that will sell you the module with the latest software downloads.

Eric, just repeating what others have said, but really good instructional video.
To expand on this a little - you definitely get praise when you upload a new video, but probably don't realize that folks like me - when I was first entering the hobby 5 years ago - somehow (luckily) found your videos and studied them to understand how to do different things. As but one example, we started in the hobby with DCS and your videos helped me hook up TMCC so that my children could run the Legacy R-16 subway set they got for Christmas. And, I'm the least electrically inclined person in the world. Thanks. Peter
Nicely done. I upgraded before I saw the vide used 9 pin method as I don't have the WiFi system yet.
Eric, I noticed that you do not have the antenna on the base, can you give a quick comment on how you are getting the communications done?
i am interested in how you wired this up.
The base connections are very simple. No problems running the out of the box configuration. Is it because you are using WiFi?
Can you draw a quick wiring diagram of what you did and what specifically would I need to purchase.
Thanks in advance.
Kevin
Very cool. Always like how simple you keep things in your videos Eric.
