Is the electric railroad cruise light compatible with the Lionel engines that have the 2 can motors (cheapies) mounted in the truck. Kline and MPC also used this setup....

 

I understand the cruise light has triggering options for some of the existing sound boards and the postwar relay can be triggered. I know some of these options require a add on board...which ones?

 

I can't seem to find a manual online to answer these questions.

If you're putting the CC-Lite into the dual motored K-Line or MPC engines, I suggest you use a PTC in the power lead to protect the motor drivers.  I use a .65A hold, 1.3A trip one.

 

The reason for this advice is I have the CC-Lite in a K-Line Interurban 2-car set (1 powered), and it stalled on a switch.  In a few seconds the CC-Lite board was up in smoke!  It melted the drivers right off the board!  If the stall current exceeds the driver rating, even for a short time, it'll kill the board.
