I have a question for the TMCC gurus on the site. I have a couple of the Mini-2 driver boards, these were available in different configurations. I know that they could be set for two lights, for one light and smoke, and I believe one more setting. My question is, are these boards different or are the boards programed for the different functions? I have some boards that are set for two lights and want to have the smoke option if it is possible.

They were the same board, just programmed for different functions. However, only Lionel or perhaps now 3rd Rail has the firmware to reprogram them. Since all the boards had the provision for LED lights, I either bought them with smoke or couplers, but never with the two light option.
Thanks John, I thought that was the case but I didn't know if any TMCC techs might have had access to the firmware.

Only in your dreams Ray. 
I'd love to be able to reprogram some of this stuff. Super-cool would be the ability to reprogram the RailSounds boards. I have the equipment, but not the access to the firmware files.
