Erratic Cruise M Operation

Sounds like missing serial data or degraded serial data.  How is antenna, swap R2LC, where did you solder serial data line too?  Is it attached.  What RS package and what R2LC Code.  I have run into the degradation before, but with the Legacy Back EMF unit. G

It could be a bad CC-M as well, I had one that did the same thing.  Swapped it out and all was well.

I'm pretty sure it had the C08 code R2LC board (I tried using one of these with a C07, and it didn't budge an inch or come up in conventional mode), and has RailSounds 4. I did solder the serial line to the correct tab going to the R2LC, so a bad CC-M seems more likely.

First stop is to swap the R4LC with a different R2LC/R4LC version C08 and reprogram.  If it still fails, and you're sure the serial connection is good, I'd call Ken at ERR.

5/12 Update:

I did take John's advice to swap out the R2LC to the newer R4LC. It did perform as it should...for about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, it suddenly stopped and shut down. When I reapplied track power, it, like Chris stated took off in full throttle state.

I'm going to talk with Ken to see if the Cruise M module can be looked at.

I'm sure ERR will replace the CC-M if it's defective.  Your description sounds like that's the last stop, there's not much else in the loop that would cause that symptom.
