Not long ago, I upgraded a K-Line GP38 for my acquaintance Chris (Lehigh Valley Railroad) to Cruise with the ERR M Commander. Before giving it back to him, I tested it twice with my Legacy system and it ran perfectly.

However, not long after I gave it back to him, it did not run the same. It ran fine for 10 minutes, but then quit. After turning the power off, it came back, but immediately took off like a jackrabbit when it hit speed step one. I asked if he could turn the 100 speed steps on and off, but still the same pattern of problems.

I know that some TMCC engines have this problem if they already have the Odyssey electronics in them, but this engine came with no such speed control electronics prior to installing the Cruise M module. If anyone can help here, it is much appreciated.

5/12 Update:

I did take John's advice to swap out the R2LC to the newer R4LC. It did perform as it should...for about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, it suddenly stopped and shut down. When I reapplied track power, it, like Chris stated took off in full throttle state.

I'm going to talk with Ken to see if the Cruise M module can be looked at.
