Those are lovely looking loco's David. I wish you much pleasure from them.
Now all you need are a couple of rakes of matching coaches to go with them.
Very nice David - are these available here in the US?
David,
Excellent design and great choice!
I found this video, it is very good quality for being from 1937.

Contact Trans Hoover. www.trainshoover.com John Hoover, besides being the US agent for Darstaed, also sells ACE.
Splendid
with all that shrouding makes super detailing easy.
Bet they were fast.
Are the prototypes still in service?

Thanks Nicole. I will have to wait for the coaches but you are right a rake of striped blue silver lined coaches would look wonderful.

They were fast ! After WW2 they were all 'de-shrouded' A couple still exist without the streamlining. There is one at the NRM York which had its streamling re-applied...
Impressive, I think.

These locos were a direct competitor to the LNER A4 (i.e. Mallard) pacific type loco which set the land speed record for steam traction. Interestingly in a book I was reading, they mention that mathematically the LMS pacific should've been faster and more powerful, but it was hand fired.
Alas, there was nobody on earth who could shovel fast enough to get the LMS pacifics fired up to their peak output capabilities.
Gorgeous models by the way. I have also seen the one on display in York. Breathtaking!
And this is the one you can see in York NRM....
It is one big locomotive !

The red & gold loco is how the Pennsy should have streamlined their K-4.

The K-4 is still a good looking engine. There are some great American streamliners to choose from - it would be nice to collect a few. I just love these 'deco type trains.
