Pardon me for jumping in here, but I just bought 4 of these and installed them the other night along my Super-Streets.. These are the small ones that flash yellow. I mounted them on highway construction signs and they are all controlled from one on-off switch and powered by a 9v DC wall-wart.  I think the grandkids will love them.

We have used a lot of Dave's products for various applications. They are easy to work with and do the job be it structure, vehicle, or train applications. Dave is great to work with.

Sure beats having to figure resistor values, etc and do all the soldering.You should be able to make the change in thirty minutes or less assuming that you have easy access.

Fast delivery also and reasonable shipping cost. If you are into structures, take a look at his DVD; works well.

I have went overboard with those Led's from them. They are so much fun to play with and you can get very creative applying them with our regular train  transformers or go the DC route.

Got a question, not so much about LEDs but the regular headlight lamps MTH uses.

The 2-8-0 these LEDs will go in currently has the bulbs and they sit at odd angles inside the light housings (just flopping around inside once thru the hole in the back).  Does anyone use something to keep them centered in the housing?

Bob we have used a product called tacky wax from Michaels to secure LEDs in structures and vehicles. I have seen similar stuff at other stores under different names. Doesn't cost much and easy to apply... plus pretty easy to remove if you are not satisfied. It doesn't harden.

We also have L.E.D.'s with stepping resistors attached the only difference is that we use 32 gage wire and ours are much smaller 1 - 1.8mm. You can actually use ours  in your headlight lens by drilling a hole in the back of the lens and inserting the LED in the hole and secure with clear RTV.
