Excessive horn blast when using the remote.  When I press the horn on the remote it continues to blow until I repeatedly push the button.  It has happened with 3 different locomotives.  The only change that has been made was the down loading of 4.30.  Once I purchased a new USB-Serial cable that compatible with Windows 8 the down load was perfect.  So I can't imagine the down load is part of the problem.  The remotes look clean.  Maybe excessive pressure when pressing?

Gerry,

Is there a way to check the transceiver board?

Yes, there is.

Connect each TIU's Remote Input port to a DCS Remote, one at a time, using a 4-conductor, curly telephone handset cord. Then, try to recreate the problem. If the problem is gone, there's a loose transceiver board in one of the two devices.

Note that when connected, the remote will talk only to the TIU to which it's connected, and that the other TIU will not be accessible.

Barry,

Evidently the transceiver board is loose.  The steam locomotive worked fine when connected to the TIU and when I went back to remote it work ok.  The one diesel worked ok when connected.  When disconnected it still had excessive horn.  Another problem is that TIU can't find the engine or out of range.  Before I take anything apart.  What the procedure.

Gerry
