First, how do you connect the EZ street connection wires to the track itself? Second, do I really need the straight to curve track pieces, I plan on running just an MTH or atlas trolley?
There are two tabs on each side of the track. Take a pliers and gently snap the piece of plastic covering the tabs on the side you wish to connect to. Williams sells wires with female spade connectors already fastened or you can make your own by purchasing wire and the female spade connectors required but you will need a crimping tool. You will just slide the spade connectors onto the tabs. The transition track is necessary coming out of the curve but not going into the curve if your direction of travel always remains the same.
