I had everything working until I put the locomotive shell on, then I lost the both the chuffing sound, smoke and the ground light attached to the cuff generator. After removing the shell again I noticed the +5V lead had broken out of it's spot on The Super Chuffer (I'm guessing and cold soldier on my part, don't know what it may have touched if anything). I Got it re-attached, re-entered the engine in the Legacy remote and recalibrated the cuff generator. This got the fan-smoke unit going again along with the ground lights but still no chuffing sound. I should mention that I have crew/tower, bell and whistle sounds just no Chuffing sound. The chuff generator must be putting out a signal because the smoke unit chuffs. Any ideas?

If the smoke unit is chuffing properly, the Chuff-Generator is working. What this sounds like is the chuff signal isn't going to pin-17 of the R2LC, that's how the chuff sound gets generatred.
Can I detect the signal by a certain voltage to that pin?
You should see the signal pulsing each time there's a chuff. Also, the red LED on the chuff-generator should be pulsing at the same time.
Ok, Yes the red LED does pulse. I'll see if I can see it on the meter. Many thanks again John.
My guess is the chuff isn't making it to the R2LC or the R2LC is broke.
Well after being away a few days for work I got to look at this again. My meter showed some type of signal getting to the Cruise Commander. I switched out the R4LC board with no result. Only only thing left was the Railsound board. I switched it out and I have the chuff sound now. Is there somehow I could have turned off the chuff sound. I had bell, whistle and crew/tower talk?
There's no setting stored on the RS4 board, so I have no idea what happened. All the sounds come over on the serial data stream.
Many have stated here that reseating the boards does the trick. Maybe that’s what has happened.
Ok, well as always, thanks to all who shared their wisdom. I hope to share a picture of it or better yet a video of it running.
