Has anyone made a helix using fastrack? Are they hard to make? Any tips or videos of how to make them would be appreciated.

I forgot to mention I was thinking of using 036 track for the helix if that's even possible. Not sure what the grade would be. I'll be pulling the Polar express R2R train set
Here is a discussion on a FasTrack spiral for a Polar Express layout.
When building a helix, the sharper the curve/the steeper the grade because you need height clearance with each successive level. O-36 is going to give you a horrendous grade, plus it's going to put a twist in the track that will cause some problems with rigid-frame steam engines as the rails may not be close enough to being level. I wouldn't build a helix with anything less than O-72, but O-84 or O-96 would be much better if you had the room.
