Today at Trainland I was speaking to a Lionel rep who informed me the Remote Flyer switches were cancelled but only the Command Control ones were going to be released.  The rational was that it was not cost effective to make both switch types.  Now the rep went on to say that the Command Control version could also function as Remote non Command Control switches.  In addition he further added that to compensate for this change Lionel was going to drop the price of the Command Control switches.

I am not quite sure how to react as I had both type of switches on order.  Depending on the price drop this could be a good thing.  What does everyone think?

As long as they produce them and follow up with a 27"r turnout it shouldn't matter. I use the command controlled turnouts in O and let me tell you that after you try them you won't want to go back. You literally put them on the layout, push a button and assign a switch number, and that's it. You can now throw that switch anytime or make it part of a route from the remote. no under table machines or extra wiring. They are fantastic.

PS. I haven't even used them with the LCS system yet. that opens up a whole new realm of possibilities. If they would just deliver the products.....
