Some time ago I bought a used lionel 6-11131 FEF but then sold it looking for a decent brass one correct for '46-'48. Availability not so much luck.

So I recently I re-acquired the same model but this time as old new stock and for close to half the price I sold my used one.

I figured at that price why not start with a fine Legacy locomotive and modify it.

Before I start fabricating the sellers system I figured I'd reach out to this forum to see if anyone knows if a part supplier already makes one and part#.

W.,

It's difficult to tell if the correct FWH is in the PSC catalog. I found an OMI Seller's FWH at the Indy O Scale show. Pure luck some of the parts were available at the show-seller had parted a damaged OMI FEF-1.

Go get a cheap die grinder and a good carbide deburring bit. Fastenal sells the bits. It'll make quick work of the Coffin feeder. A little body putty and sanding is all you need...

funny I saw this post-I was actually thinking today I need to do the piping on mine FEF-1

I have really been thinking about correcting my 838. Got to get some other projects done first.
