A guy asked me today for help with adding an engine to DCS; he stumped me, so I came here for some guidance for him.
He has a PS-2 Railking SW9 (30-2327-1) that he has been trying to add to his DCS system without success. He has tried adding it on both his layout and test track, no luck either place. The wheels on the SW-9 are clean. He tried adding it both using an old version of DCS and the latest update on his Rev L TIU, no luck with that change. He has 3 PS3 engines, all of which can be found successfully. However, he has an SD70 from a starter set, also PS2 (no number) that the remote also cannot find.
I know in the past I have had issues with the same model SW9 on our club layout, but that may be because I partially fried the boards. I also know, from a past topic I posted here, that all engines will vary in their ability to read the DCS signal, and I suspect that is the issue at hand.
Any ideas on what the problem is or a potential workaround?
