Paint for Soo Line cars of this era is very close to Scalecoat 2 Oxide Red. Everything was painted including the trucks.
Super nice. Sure would like to have some for CB&Q, but even decals aren't available anymore.

I am working on the underframe now. There is no "they" right now. I decided to build one to get the hang of it before started another one.
Hot H2O, I want to build a couple of the Q cars for interchange. I was going to piece decals together from a couple of boxcar sets. I have the Q color freight guide to go by.

I guess the next best thing would be to give the side sills a light brown wash in places where the car might have been hosed out . . .

Hey Malcom, instead of buying all the small packs of plastic call Evergreen, they will send you bulk packs and even cut to size. they did an order for me many years ago.
