I have been a member of this Forum for almost a year now and just want to say a few things I've noticed about it.The quality and quantity of members are very apparent although a small percentage of members do most of the posting. I guess it's the old 80/20 rule, 20% do 80%. The amount of knowledge among the members is fantastic. From the smallest problems to those electronic nightmares, someone seems to have the answer. I find this so comforting to know that my fellow Forum members are there to help me through any O gauge problem I may encounter. If you were to look at my postings for the year, you definitely would see a trend in the problem category of a electric/electronic nature. I am the first to admit that I am a babe in the woods when it comes to that stuff. So when I do have a problem, I know that those of you with expertise in that area will be very helpful and understanding that I don't possess the know-how that you do. Each of us have some specialty to offer to this Forum. Some have many talents and some not so much. I'm not exactly sure what mine may be, but I will always try to help if I think I have the answer. Maybe being such a novice in the electric/electronic area is actually a help because I will ask the questions that maybe others are too timid or embarrassed to ask but will benefit from the responses. Sometimes I see a question posed by some member and I think, wow, that shouldn't even be asked, but then I realize that like me, we don't know everything. All of us should remember that when we read something that seems too inane to be posted. Let us all help each other as members of a huge Forum family. This Forum is a wonderful gift from OGR and we all can benefit from it. I sincerely hope that my first year with this Forum has been a welcome addition to you members and that I have contributed my share of knowledge, wit and wisdom. I am looking forward to many more years and I hope that all of you do also.

Thank you for the very positive review...I agree. Others, in the past, have nit-picked over some slight they have "suffered", or something the "PC Police" do not approve of.
well said..
without this forum there is no doubt in my mind I would have given up and put it all back in the boxes again. I now have a nice conventional layout and just this week I began thinking about maybe a starter set with remote access and what ever TMCC and Legacy are!
Well said. Pretty much everyone on this list has had issues with wiring, track laying, where to find things, and modeling techniques. I'm glad members are willing to share their "been there/done that" experience. I try to do the same when I can even though many members have probably forgotten more O scale modeling than I'll ever know.
I agree this is a wonderful gift from OGR. It never ceases to blow me away at the level of expertise of some members. On the electrical side i am embarrased for me when I see depth of understanding and knowledge of our forum electrical gurus. As a beginner I have asked many questions and virtually everyone has been answered in a helpful way.
On the command side i would have boxed it all up were it not for guys like Barry constantly answering questions and then his book.
i am pretty proud of my layout progress, but I know full well that it would not be a fraction of what it is were it not for helpful forum members. And as much as I am happy with the layout, I have no fear that the OGR guys will be knocking on my door to photograph it any time soon.
So thanks to OGR for providing the service and to all the helpful members that make it possible.

yup, out of all the train forums out there this is the only one I post at. everyone is treated with respect.
even when one makes a bone head remark, no one holds a grudge.
thanks!
AND ITS FREE! Of course I'm a magazine subscriber, figure its the least I can do.
Great forum, I totally agree.
Agreed, the knowledge base here in fantastic and the people are friendly and helpful.
And, That is really the way to support the forum.
Do as many of us did, Get a subscription if you don't have one.
Besides, I really do look forward to the magazine showing up.
As an example, I was very happy to see my friend Paul's layout in a recent issue.
And on the Cover too !
It's in a tight space, it's 2 rail, but it's VERY well done.
I would also like to thank the posters, sponsors & OGR for everything here. I just got started in this hobby last year, and probably would have been looking for something else by now if not for this forum! Can't begin to tell you what I have learned and been able to understand from this forum. Still have a long way to go, but again, Thanks to you All!

Paul, you are a real compliment to our Forum. It has been nice to get to know you through your posts. You should also be proud of your layout.
I wish more people would post.
