Front-window view of the ride from Times Square to the new 34th Street station (starts at 1:52)
Presumably service speeds will be faster--the tunnel was still being outfitted at the time of the run.

Thank you for posting the video. I am surprised that there is not an station between the current station and the new end of the line at 34th St. Maybe in the future, however it looks like the line could be extended south of the 34th St. Station again maybe in the future.
awesome! new is new, gotta take a ride when it opens

There was initially going to be a station at 10th avenue, but the money for that one did not materialize. I think (not 100% sure) that there are provisions for adding a 10th Ave station should the money become available in the future.

Are those CFLs being used for tunnel lighting? Makes sense. I'd like to see
one close up some day. That too geeky?

Neat, I sometimes take the 7 train if the E train is running crappy (take the M to 42nd street, transfer to the 7) and I noticed the first time I did that that the 7 tunnel extended from 42nd street, didn't know they had powered it up.
Does New York have cab signalling? I don't see any line side signals. I think the slow speed is because this is still a work zone. There seemed to be workers in the tunnel too and there were at track level at the crossover.
surprised the station signs said 34th street Hudson yards. It should have said 34h street Jacob Javits center as that is the reason the extension was constructed. Maybe its on another sign
