This gent takes it one step further. This doesn't belong in the real trains section, nor is it HO, O, or any other gauge. Just an interesting, quick read.

All I can say is "Wow"! Not my cup of tea but I respect the skill and dedication it took to create. Thanks for sharing!

This guy is my kind of train Freak!
Now that's a train lovers man cave. Pretty cool and thanks for posting.

This fellow is also the guy behind the Rapido Train line:
That is KOOL!!! He should have put some countryside murals outside the windows so you wouldn't feel so closed in. But still KOOL . Hmmmmm, next years winter project???????

In one of the hobby magazines some years ago, one guy had built a replica of part of a train car AND also had the nose of an F-unit in his basement painted up for KCS. He had to open up a wall of the basement to get the loco cab in there. His layout may have been HO. As I recall he was planning to rebuild and expand the layout with a large model of a Union Station. Anyone remember that and know the current status?
That coach would command my attention. I wouldn't notice what his basement looked like, crappy or not.

Or big screen TVs with countryside passing by!

This is a very remarkable guy who has enough passion for trains to fulfill his dream. Hats off to him, great job. I loved his video.
I don't think that car is gonna make 0-27 curves! (Some of us are passing up
1/4" scale length cars for lack of room) And like the proverbial boat or plane built
in the basement...how ya gonna get it out?
Some people spend 2,500 hours on front of the TV. He spent it fullfilling his crazy dream. We need more people in the world like him!
Another basement project: 1950!
1992!
2010! (Forum member Lee Wood with beard, & scissors on ribbon)

Dr Nick Muff is still active
That is really cool!! Nice find and thanks for posting.
Wow. Thanks for sharing. His dream likely came true! Terry
Well he definitely outdoes Mike Wolf and the LIONEL in the bricks of his chimney
Even better he is a Doctor Who fan!
There I one problem with this club in Houston. We don't have basements!

That's the one! At 1:55 in the video is a view of an actual F-unit nose portion, and replica of part of a coach.
How about Mike Wolfe? Have you every visited MTH headquarters in Columbia, MD? You'll find that he built a conference room that looks like a Pennsy passenger car. There used to be a picture on the website, but I think you can see it in the catalog.

Yes, that is correct. When you walk in the front door it is to the right. I think what they did is they'formed' the wall to the conf room and painted it the appropriate colors and put large windows in it. It's not a long room. So when in the foyer of the HQ about 8' of the wall looks like the passenger car. It is clever.
How about Mike Wolfe?
Not in the basement though!
Sorry, I'm not in the Creepy Basement Brotherhood but wish I could, I belong to the 2 of the brother clubs, the Creepy Garage Brotherhood ( for woodworking, cutting, painting, & building), and the Creepy Living Room Brotherhood ( for the layout). Dirt crawl space just will not work for a layout. Would love to have a basement though.
i didn't even know i wanted a train in my basement until now.
