So, here's the project in the back of my mind...
Combine hood and frame parts from an RS-11 and an RS-27 (And plenty of P&D Hobby grab iron sets!) to make a up until now never produced NYC ALCo RS-32.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Mario

I Like It!
Unfortunately, the only way we are ever going to see this model is if you do what you have proposed. Only the NYC and SP ordered these locos. PC inherited the NYC fleet and some were sold to short lines. I don't think the manufacturers will bite with such limited offerings. But, who knows, MTH made the RS-27.
I would like to have one in Penn Central.

I love it, Mario!! While you're at it, would you mind building me a D&H ALCo RS36?? It's one of my all-time favorite engines...and I've been thinking for quite a while now how I could make one!!
Here's the donor MTH Premier RS-27:
This frame and running gear (Protosound 1) will be used for another upcoming project (to be named later), and the above blue colored long hood and cab details will be transplanted onto the Lionel RS-11 frame. The dynamic brake screens will have to be filled... Tamiya white body putty should do wonders.
Thanks,
Mario
Not sure I'd be able to cut up that PC loco........cool looker!!
Great project!
Go for it! The RS32 and the RS36 were pretty similar body wise.
