Brian, do you know where this photo was taken? I remember seeing this sign many, many years back. But I can't remember in what state and town I saw it'...

Nice catch! The fact that you can't even see the rails reminds me of this...

Not quite as "magical", but it fits!

Hi Quarter Gauger 48, this is actually The Blue Comet of New Jersey Central RR by MTH parked next to my Monon shop. I know that MTH did a special run for Mr Muffins Trains of a Mikado 2-8-2, but I did not purchase one. I do have an F3 though.

Nice collection, Bob. The black PC is my least favorite GG1 paint scheme (excluding the bicentennial nightmare and the occasional pink/razorback red/light blue desecration), but there is still something very pleasing about the lines of the engine that always stand out. Don’t remember ever seeing the red/white PC before... it makes the black a bit more palatable!!!

Got it, The black and gold on the steamer are colors of the Monon, as well as the red and gray. So I assumed it was a Monon'... Either way it is a beauty'...
looks like you have a nice layout going'...
Front End of another Blue Comet: LC+ NJ Central Pacific K4:
I say this one is a pretty good deal for the modern technological features (good smoke and sounds, and prototypical slow speed, etc.), good looks, and relatively affordable cost. Arnold
Excited to see this front end again tomorrow...
Happy FEFday!

The PRR box cab is a L6 electric. They were failed attempts at an electric freight loco design. Better put, they were never fully developed after the failure of the P5 in passenger service and the eventual decision to move the P5s into the freight pool. The 2 L6s and 1 L6a that were built were used in New York as passenger yard service into the PC days.
Bill T, You should take that NP GG1 over to Electric Avenue. It'll make some hearts race.
Beautiful examples of rail fan and model photography this Friday'... I just haven't had the time to make any contributions of late... I hope to get caught up with this unimportant stuff and back to what is important...
Trains, modeling and photography........ of both'...

Thanks for the clarification. Though I am a PRR lover, I am not an authority on Box cab electrics.
No problem! I'm not either but I love the Al Staufer power books.
C&O Allegheny pulling a string of 17 box cars passing Terryville at night on the freight track
Engines pulling the Blue Comet and the Nellie Bly stopping at Terryville suburban station.
The Santa Fe Super Chief.
Led by a PRR GG-1, the Federal is at full throttle after leaving Christopolis Union Station.
Thomas, Annie and Claribel leave Terryville on their way to the Island of Sodor.
Happy Front End Friday! This is an old picture from when I filled the 7 stall C&D roundhouse with all my berkshires (and my dad's 736). I have lost count of how many I have now. I think it's 13 or 14.
