My issue is similar in that my uncoupler track functions as it should when hooked up to the control button and aux power on the workbench. The aux power is a lionel 3 amp, 70 watt brick and controller from a starter set and I move it from the layout to the bench and back as needed. It function is to power several uncoupler tracks and several accessories not handled by my Z 1000's and CW80
However, when the uncoupler track is taken over to the layout and wired the same way it was on the bench and then inserted into the layout between existing sections of FT, the AUX transformer/controller shorts out (telltale green light goes out) and the uncoupler track does not work. I tried different permutations and combinations of the 4 wires in case that was an issue. No luck.
I can operate the uncoupler track successfully installed on the layout if I use trackpower. The problem is the Aux power which also is used to power several other uncoupler tracks and accessories without issue. These uncoupler tracks and accessories are soley controlled by the standalone AUX power and are not interconnected with the layout power in any way.
Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong and how to eliminate the short would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance
