This weekend while going through YouTube to find various train films, I stumbled across this series from BBC, which apparently aired this past Summer.  Six episodes, and I ended up watching all of them!  To me it was thoroughly absorbing, and makes me wonder why there isn't an American counterpart!  I would love to see an American version!

I love watching things like this, and love how the UK embraces the history of rail!

Just my opinion but, the current "History Channel" has turned into "The Reality Channel", and thus is no longer interested in such in-depth "history" projects/programs such as the above BBC program.

I happen to agree with you.  I even call the Food Network the "Playing With Food Network".

Things like the Discovery Channel, National Geographic, History Channel (which had an amazing series in "Trains Unlimited" a while ago) have all now gone the way of reality-based shows and away from actually educating viewers like this series did.

I learned so much in these 6 BBC episodes.  More than some programs that are made here in the US!

Eddie, thanks to you, today I finished watching all 6 segments of the series. I enjoyed it much. Thank you.
