The NYS Thruway Authority is blowing up the remaining super structure of the 50+ year old Tappan Zee Bridge. It's happening this Saturday at 9:00 am! Lohud is streaming it live at 9:00 am.

The PANYNJ isn't involved with that bridge. It's owned by the New York State Thruway Authority.

Apparently the high winds of this last week kept the demo crews from installing the explosives.
The demo is postponed at least a week.

And if the demolition goes off as planned, it could be fitting as there are two remaining towers left of the main span so it could be a "two for Tuesday"!

According to the ABC station in NY, the Mario Cuomo Bridge (the replacement for the old Tappan Zee) will close at 10:00 AM Tuesday and the old bridge will blow between 10:15 - 10:30. They said it will be covered live on TV and on their website (https://abc7ny.com).
