I have alwys used Lionle track and their uncoupler/unload remote track swections.  For my new layout I have switched to Gargraves track with Ross awitches.  I am now installing the Gargraves uncoupler/unload track sections.  I have followed the instructions exactly as describe, at least I think so.  However I can not get them to work.  I have checked the operating cars(all postwar} and they do respond to a direct connection to a transformer.  It seems like the remote sections are not getting any power.  I have taken a track section by itself with no other track connected.  Followed the hook up insturctions but it's a no go.  I must be doing something wrong.  Does anyone have any thoughts??

I just checked my hook up the longer the pair of wires from the controller go to the outside terminals of the track, the shorter wires go to the power supply.
The wires to the track are white the wires to the power are black. I don't know if GG uses the same color wires on each item, maybe yours is different.

Hope this helps.

Dave,

Thanks for your thoughts.  On my track sections the 2 long wires that come out of the controller are black & white.  The shorter ones are also black & white, they go to the transformer. Well anyway, mine will not work.  If I don't get some more answers I'll have to call Gargraves and ask them what's up.  I know I have them hooked up right according to the instructions that came with the track.  Something is just missing.

The GG website shows a diagram for post 5/94. It shows 5 wires, a pair of white & black that connect to the transformer and a 3 wire white, red, and black that connects to the track. The red is the magnet lead. The black / white connect to the blades. If you hook the pair to the transformer and a test light across the  black / white of the three wire, the lamp should light when you press the button.

How are you supplying the power, is it from the same transformer you are running the train with? Is it fixed voltage?

I don't know if it matters but I use a seperate transformer for accessories, that way I can control the voltage. As I said my unloader tracks require at least 14 volts to accuate the dump cars, they are pw Lionel.

As pennsyfan said check to see if you have power going to the controller if you do then accuate the controller and see if there is power going out,if not the controller may be bad.
