I have placed my standby reservations for the 5 car set and one add on car in 3 rail. I really hope I get these. I just seen the cars on there website and they are stunning to say the least. Scott told me he will have them January 10th. So I am crossing my fingers and toes. Should look great behind my new MTH 611.
Does anyone think I will be lucky enough to get a standby set? Has anyone got a standby set before?

Folks,
The container arrived on schedule January 2nd. But yesterday Customs randomly selected our container for a full intensive exam. This will cause a 7-10 day delay in us getting the container.
We expect to have the container by January 15th, next Friday. We can then begin shipping the week after.
We are sorry about the delay, we expected have these in our warehouse, sorting them by now. But this is the reality of our world today.

At one time there was some talk of Scott doing a set of N&W passenger cars where the other named & unnamed trains could be properly done (forget that Lionel set...never happened). That said, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting on GGD to make a special run set of NS OCS cars. But, stranger things have happened. The "Arrow" cars, however, are a reality.
I do have to ask why you would think that the "N&W" cars wouldn't look right behind your F units?
If indeed you do get a standby call and refuse it, I'm sure someone else who wants the set will be glad you did.

We've (LHS) been informed that the B&O Cincinnatian cars.... (Yeeeeeeehawwwwww!!)... are in the same shipment, also now subject to the same customs delay.

Received UPS shipment notice in the last hour. On East Coast, so it will be nine days (shipment leaves on Monday). Hope UPS does better this time. Last shipment from 3rd Rail arrived with hole all the way into yellow interior box.

GGD shipping notices get emailed when the labels are generated. This is often far in advance of the actual shipment date. I wouldnt get your hopes up that it ships on Monday. I'm waiting on a slumbercoach in the same container. I see my card has been hit but Ive not received a UPS notice yet.
None here either.
Scott said that they should have the container by yesterday. So they will probably have a big pile of boxes waiting for UPS to pick up Monday. Some lucky people may actually had theirs picked up Friday.
Check the tracking details to see if your bax is on the move.

You could be right. This is only my second order from them - the first, I never received any shipment notice. But, I'll say that I've never received a UPS Quantum View notice with a tracking number and expected arrival date when the shipment hadn't gone out, or didn't go out the next UPS business day.

Well, first let me say I was wrong about shipment. Lesson learned. More importantly, for those of us who ordered skirted cars: uh-oh, problem. Check your email. All arrived w/o skirts.

Oh no. But it sounds like Scott has a solution planned already. Of course, it means a bit longer wait, but I can wait to make sure they get it right. I really want the skirted version so I do not mind the wait.
My checque has been cashed and a shipping label has been created. We Shall see???? by Fri. 22nd Me thinks ehhh.... Still excited and cant wait to see the slumber coach. It fits in with My North Coast project timeframe nicely.

I would expect that stand-bys will be addressed after all of the orders have been shipped. There is always the chance that someone won't want to wait for the skirts and may bail. Hang in there....
My understanding is, get your cars now and your skirts later (that's what I'm doing) or wait and get your skirts and cars at the same time. Either way, you get your skirts.

We are working diligently to get skirts designed that will fit tight against the car's bottom edge. We have sent 1 full set back to Korea for fitting of samples and once approved, they will be painted to match and shipped to us. I can assure all customers, if they don't like what they get, we will offer a full refund. Working hard to make that a slim possibility. We have emailed everyone that has a direct reservation, dealers and direct customers, and about 1/2 have responded. 100% positive response. We are blessed with the nicest and most understanding customers.

I was lucky enough to get my standby order fulfilled for the 5 car set! My set shipped this week - still on standby for the add on cars but nonetheless I count myself lucky!
Congratulations MJ! My cars arrived today. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
I'm opening boxes now, so far, surprised that the correct cinder deflectors are there! Thats cool! My separate car got bumped a bit in transit, I think the few issues will be an easy fix on my work bench.

The UPS truck finally spit my set out just a few minutes ago. On first inspection they look very nice. I won't have time for a thorough going over or post any photos until late this weekend or early next week.

I apologize I was referring to the S2 and finish set of Pullmans. Please share your photos Jim. Here is my example.
Here are the pictures of my GGD Powhatan Arrow set. I do not think that the color in my photos are a true representation of the car's color. To see what looks to be a true representation look at the photo on the GGD web site. I am not going to get into an argument over the color. Do I think it is brown as some suggest? No. Could it be more red? Maybe. I like the color just fine. If you don't, that's up to you. Just don't whine about it here!
What we have here is a set of N&W specific cars, not some generic set! Even the interiors are correct per the drawings. There are some problems with the interiors bucking up. Scott knows about that and says that they have been trying to fix as many as they can. It probably won't be very hard to fix, which I will try to do when more time is available. The underpinnings are generic (due to pricing), but, we knew that going in.
The P1 or Crew Coach. There were only two made for the Arrow.
The P2 or 2 Compartment Coach. Only two were made for the Arrow.
The P3 Coach
The Diner
The P4 Observation Car There were only two made for the Arrow. Note the proper marker lamps, just like on a caboose, And, finally an observation without the red light on the roof!
Comparison of GGD N&W S2 Pullman to Arrow P4 Observation. There appears to be a bit more red in the Pullman color.
I am very pleased with the way these turned out.
Now, if we could get GGD to make some N&W passenger cars without the Arrow logo plastered on the side in order to run in other N&W trains!!!
