Sounds good, and better than nothing, but service at the terminal is  not sufficient to maintain EMT skills and certainly not paramedic skills. A New York City paramedic unit should be based in front of the terminal.  The Metro North Police also do  not automatically notify the city of a medical emergency. "Mother please, we'd rather handle it ourselves". There are insufficient fire extinguishers throughout the terminal.  The little electric rigs should have at least another half dozen 40 ABC units on the bumpers, and a rig is needed with a diesel generator (no carbon monoxide) and emergency lighting. The emergency lighting system in event of catastrophic main power failure is inadequate.

Sometimes the media use "EMT" to cover everything from First Responder to Paramedic.   I don't know the actu al class of medics used at the terminal.

But this also shows the issues with the fragmentation of disaster response.  WTC is actually under control of the Port Authority, not NYC.  Local control is a good thing, BUT to much fragmentation can lead to loss of command and control.

40 ABC?  My guess:  fire suppression equipment?

ABC are classes of fires. The "40" is a number to designate suppression capability. I am not mad at anyone, but issues existed forty years ago that continue to exist today.  You would think when FDNY took over EMS it would be a good thing, but it is a nightmare on Elm street.

Yeah...all the brothers were valient.... They (ICity of New York)  need twice as many ambulances and there is no need whatsoever for a paramedic lieutenant, Captain, of Klingon commander wandering around in helmet and battle gear.

EMT skills at all levels are hard to keep up and whenever you hire dedicated EMT's who are outside the municipal system keeping up those skills is virtually impossible, regardless of the motivation.
