Breeze,
This is for you. I just took these in the back yard with no direct light / or flash.

I added the Burlington GP35 that came this week - really like it. I bought it to pool with my Great Northern units. Think I might need another one of those. I was hoping the new Santa Fe's were going to be in the Tuxedo Scheme instead of the Yellow Bonnet.

I really don't think there is a problem with the orange. I think the problem is trying to catch it on the camera. I am using as 16 megapixel Nikon, but it still turns out a little orange. I am sure a pro could catch on the camera better than me. If you put this engine next to Joseph Shines Great Northern Vol2 picture book they really look the same. (example page 21 bottom right). Truly if you look through this book every GP35 looks different.

Also everybody's monitors are different!

Thanks for the shots, Blue Streak. Just for fun, I just went outdoors and took a few shots of my Lionel Gt. N. FA for comparison. It does appear that the FA has less red in it, and leans more toward orange. It would be good to see them side-by-side, of course. I had an Atlas Gt. N. RS-1 at one time, and it and the FA had about the same color orange.

BTW, I sort of wish you hadn't put in that shot of the Burlington.  That's a great looking engine.

Here is another shot with a little light reflecting off of it. And the GP9 below that looks just like your FA. The Orange is the same on both engines and I think maybe its not having the yellow pin stripe makes the difference. Any way I keeping them.

I have to decide on the Mopac units in the catalog. At least they have small numbers and hopefully easy to renumber since they chose the exact numbers on my Atlas GP35's (603 & 611). I might just buy the 607 unit or maybe renumber one of Atlas units and get two. I wish somebody with the mag could tell me if they used a Texas & Pacific or Mopac Buzz Saw.
