What is the lineage of the RMT Buddys? Are they new to RMT, or were they previous made by another company? Perhaps Kline?

Just curious.

If memory serves, the RMT ones come from the Marx version of the RDC (which are somewhat hard to find!)  K-Line then started issuing the Marx tooling of the RDC, with RMT currently making them.

eddiem...Years ago a SEPTA BEEP was made in 2 versions. Version #1 was unpowered but complete with chassis/wheels/couplers and mounted on a flatbed depressed truck trailer.

Version #2 was a powered SEPTA BEEP with a different roadnumber.

Until recently these were available at the SEPTA Museum Store in Phila, PA.

septabeep...RMT no longer publishes a printed catalog. Entire RMT product line is now online.

Thanks.

walter you need to get septa to order some bangs,  buddys or some other freight cars. thanks again for the great deals.

Have bought items from RMT before and always happy with them. Thought their sale prices for cars I'd purchased last fall were great, but prices on those same items even better this time. These sale prices are nothing short of spectacular and the quality and value for your money is top notch with ultra fast delivery.

I do have one question though and it's not a complaint since I've ordered RMT's BEEP people previously but wondering why discounts on most all items were so huge but not as great on the BEEP people sets. I know painting people is more labor intensive than assembling rolling stock, locos or other items but likewise there is less raw material used in manufacturing people so curious why the discounts on people sets weren't as great percentage-wise as discounts on their other sale items.

Wouldn't it be amazing for us if other manufacturers would hold a similar sale? But then undercutting their dealers with such deep discounts would create ill will and grief from their dealers (i.e. a recent Lionel sale as well as RMT's ceasing sales to dealers a few years ago), RMT doesn't have that concern since they no longer sell through dealers.

Thanks for this tip. I ordered a few ore cars earlier this week and they got here today. My first RMT order and overall very happy. Interestingly, the cars each come with a man (though one was missing). The ore loads are different colors seemingly based on the road name. The cars sit a bit high off the trucks. One of the uncoupler magnet plates is misaligned. The packer emptied his paper shredder into the box as packing padding, which I hate. Minor complaints aside, I've always wanted a variety of ore cars and  these will be great fun. Here's a photo of some of the ore cars with a scale atlas NJT car from the upcoming doctor who episode "Oreating BEEPeoplebies"

I wish Walter all the best.  I expect to receive my order in the next few days.  Excellent service to say the least.

I have several RMT products which I purchased over the years from dealers for very reasonable prices.  I like them all.  I'll be honest, I was turned off by what I felt were MSRP's that were too high for RMT trains.  I bought them in the past because their quality and reasonable price.  I will never pay nearly $80 for a semi scale boxcar.  The sale prices are incredible and I would not expect to see prices like this again.  I've bought many nice freight cars for around $30 to $35 and I feel that's a fair price for 6464 size cars.

njscott...The little man you mention is known throughout the 3-rail world as 'Little Wally'. RMT not only stands behind each toy train product but the president of the company goes along with each freight car!

Please send me an email with your complete name/address etc. to wmatuch@readymadetoys.com and I will send you a replacement for the 'missing' Little Wally.

We are filling so many orders that the styro-peanuts temporarily ran out last week.

Thanks.

RMT to the Rescue!

Well, Santa brought a new Lionel Corporation Tinplate 249E Christmas set.  Unfortunately, the locomotive only ran for five minutes, so it's back for repair.  The track beneath the tree was bare... :-(  Until Walter and RMT came to the rescue with a terrific sale.  As a result, the tree has company for its last few days.  And, as usual, Little Wally is always looking at trains!  Too bad all the cabeeses were gone.

Thanks, RMT.

Ron
