Today Steve from Ross called me. My order for Tinplate switches some how went to an old address of mine. The person living there phoned the number of Ross on the shipping label and advised Steve of the error. Steve called me and an hour later I had my New Tinplate Switches. Kudos to Steve at Ross and to the person at my old address.

Marty, I agree the switches are great BUT I did have a problem with my Y6b negotiating two consecutive back to back O-72 switch curves, as the front engine drivers would pick the point and derail.  Called and left messages with Ross answering machine (no live person exists), no replies. Sent e-mails, no replies.  Finally found after two weeks of working with switches and looking at Lionel and Kline switches, I had to super glue long strips of plastic and dremel shape ends so that the front wheels would be guided onto the points and follow around the curves.  Sent suggestions to Ross about problem and fix and possible modification to rails, again no reply.

May think hard and long about buying more Ross, as customer service is very poor.  But as they say, your milage may vary.

And jojofry, I agree the z1000 aren't the sharpest knife in the drawer.  I have sent back 4 motors that were out of box failures when I installed the ten Ross switches to Dennis at ZStuff, who promptly fixed them.  I have one thats broke but its on a siding so will wait for another or two to fail before sending them back for repairs.  I did send Dennis schematics and proof of concept of a better design to overcome the faults but no further correspondence resulted.  I suppose the work around is Tortise motors with the wiring and mechanical rigimorole required.
