I love that show. Monroe has very eclectic tastes. Classical music, the cello, Lionel trains and clocks.

My wife and I watch  Grimm every Friday without fail.  There is always something interesting going on.

And Monroe has been my favorite character since episode 1.  This is just another reson to like him (and the show).

My wife started watching it awhile back and I've gotten caught up in watching to.  Now one of my favorites.

Don't forget, it comes on in 1 hour on the east coast, at 9pm.

Monroe has his trains set up again for the holidays in tonight's episode!

I enjoy the train scenes at Monroe's. I'm not familiar with vintage Marklin but I was curious if the engine/tender set is authentic. The rolling stock looked more recent to me. Can anyone identify it?

Looked like custom-painted Lionel to me.  Did spot modern Lionel transformers powering the layout.  Probably easier than finding real vintage marklin to run.

Still, I can forgive a little Hollywood fudging in this matter, since they treated the matter with respect.  And the scene involving Rosalee's defense of the layout was priceless!

It's a great show.  I record it every week and watch it later w/o commercials.  The trains are cool.  There was a BONES episode one Christmas season when a Santa Claus had a total room train layout and Christmas wonderland,  It was spectacular!

ONLY WE would know that they weren't  real Marklins.

Also, who knows about Marklins? How popular are Marklins in a general audience sense?

Clearly Lionel 0-8-0 with Fastrack.  Maybe someone dis-likes 'Lionel'.......

I don't think anyone dislikes Lionel.  The character of Monroe likes old-world (European, especially German) stuff, so Marklin makes sense for the character.  I just think that the producers didn't have the budget and time available to hunt down some authentic Marklin.
