This was originally done on a set where Rockwell International was about to shoot an instructional video  on one of their truck transmissions. The director asked the on-camera talent to start talking, just to confirm audio levels, lighting, camera angles, etc. He started talking and the reset is history.

This was all done off the cuff and they kept the cameras rolling for the whole thing. This has been a classic in the corporate video business for many, many years.

I think the script goes back to shortly after WWII. Its been an on-going joke in engineering circles.

It was on a late 1950's plaque from General Electric in an electro-mechanical lab at Rutgers Engineering.

I can't believe he made it through that whole video without cracking up.

They either:

a) made some very good, undetectable (to me) splices

b) required 30 takes to get one with no laughing

or

Mike is a tremendous actor/comic who should be in show business.

I don't care how many times you have seen/heard that, it is still hilarious.

Mike did not mention how the new design of the Fenobble Pin streamlines the connection to the LaJoodis Valve, thus insuring smooth operation, even when using an old style Dynamic Hypersoidal Perambulator from the original TMCC system.

That may be too technical for some, which may be why he left it out.

I see Mike didn't paraphrase the very last sentence from the original (about at 1:35 into the clip). If he had it probably would have been, "We know Legacy is not cheap, but we're sure you'll buy it".

I sure wish that he would give a more detailed explanation instead of ratting off this basic presentation. Model railroaders are all scientists and always take an academic interest in train electronics. After listenening to this video it is now clear why the trains don't always work- the system used is too simple.
