Hello, I am adding a 4th inner loop on my standard gauge layout.  I currently have my loop #1 on Fixed 1 and loop #2 on Var 1 and loop #3 on Var 2.  I have just the Fixed 2 to work with on my TIU.  Could I use another KW, hooked up the the 20 volt posts on the KW, wire that up to Fixed 2 on the TIU??  Then, to the loop #4.  I will have a resettable circuit breaker between the KW and TIU 10 AMP.  And have my power brick from my Z1000 plugged into the AUX port.  I have my Z4000 hooked up to the VAR 1 and 2.  I will run my DCS or PS2 locos on Fixed 1 and Fixed 1 hooked up with the 2 KWs.  And the prewar locos with the Z4000 on VAR 1 and VAR 2.  Will this work just fine to do it this way??  One last question...if I have two PS2 or DCS loco on the same loop, but one pulling my state cars and another in a siding.  Can I select which one to use on the loop? Or must I only have one loco on the loop at a time?  I have not tried to put two PS2 locos on the same loop yet.  Will it work?  Are the locos selectable?  Thanks.

You do not want to tandem 2 KWs too one loop of track.

Take 2 loops that you want to run conventional on and connect to each z-4000 throttle. Connect the other 2 loops to the KWs one each. You can use the 20volt pin or 1 throttle.

I set all 4 channels to fixed and when i want to run conventional i vary the power to the transformer. You can run the variable channels with the handheld and use throttles to control the fixed.

All 4 loops should be isolated from each other with insulating pins or just physically separated.

I have STD gauge also and run 4 loops one on each channel of 2 Z-4000s. I like the volt amp meter when running conventional.
