I am trying to update my TIU and 3 DCS handheld units to the new DCS V4.2.
I downloaded the DCS loader and DCS V4.2 to my computer.
I ran the DCS loader and put V4.2 on my TIU OK (I think)
I then turned off the TIU as instructed and restarted it. I then tried to download V4.2 into my handheld. I connected the handheld to the TIU using the phone cable, connected to the remote input jack on the TIU.
I then ran the DCS loader program to download V4.2 to the handheld. It found the TIU on Comm1 OK, then asked me to turn on the handheld and hold the button down and press OK on the screen popup. A few seconds later, it asked me to release the handheld power button and to press OK on the screen popup. I then asked me to press the power button and hold and press OK when done, then a few seconds later it asked me to press the power button again, and press OK when done, then it kept asking me to turn the handheld on, off, on, off, on, off,,,,,,,,.
Is this what it is supposed to happen, or is something going wrong.
The first handheld was V2.11. I had cleared the memory before starting, as instructed. the other 2 handheld were V3.10. all had me go into the same repeat on,off,on,off..... loop. I eventually canceled and tried again, and again, no difference.
What is supposed to happen when you update the handheld?
