I'm sure this is an easy one for the more experienced. I've got a new Sunset E7 CB&Q A-A set. One runs fine out of the box. The other however will start up under TMCC and start rolling when the throttle is turned but then the headlight flickers and it won't answer TMCC commands. If I cut off the power it will start up again fine then does the same thing. Works OK in conventional control.
Also, I notice that once started and at a standstill, it will answer all TMCC commands except that the rear coupler won't fire although the sound effect plays. It's when I turn the throttle that the flickering starts, it rolls at a slow speed but won't respond to the CAB-1.
Could this be a loose board or antenna connection? I don't want to open the shell or bother Scott Mann if this is easy to rectify.
Have tried a full reset and that made no difference so I assume it's a loose connection or bad board. There's no flickering light issue with the other unit or any other TMCC loco on this track.
[BTW, after reading other threads I also tried the ground plane test (hand over the engine) and that made no difference.]
