I'm embarking on documenting the track plan for quite a large layout that has lots and lots of custom curves using Gargraves flex track.  I am using RR-Track 5.0 and the Gargraves library.  I’m having a problem with custom length custom curves.  The Gargraves flex track is 37.25in long.  I need to make many curves that are shorter.  To shorten flex track the RR-Track manual says “to shorten a piece of flexible track, you need to start shoving the edit points together”.  This seems like an almost impossible task.  You have to keep shoving the interior edit points together, check the length, shove some more, check the length, etc.  I have HUNDREDS of these to do.

Does anyone have a tip on how to make this more efficient?

Thanks

Use the "Custom Radius Curve" curved section option. Just chose a radius (that's HALF the "O" number) and the arc, then RR-Track will do the rest. If the section is too long, cut the arc down -- i.e., instead of a 22.5 degree arc at 120" radius (O-240) do an 11.25 degree, then copy/paste it onto the first one.

When I do design experiments, I'll often make custom sections in several sizes, then copy/paste them into the layout design.

If you're trying to fit a curve between to points, hold the alt key, press and hold the right mouse button and drag between the end points you want to connect. The box will appear when you let go and you select "General Curve." When you first open RR-Track, it's a good idea to go to the setup wizard, click on "Flex Track" and choose "Radius Curve." This will make cleaner curves of broader radius.
