Help to identify an armature

I am still going through the box of odd parts that I recently purchased. Included in the lot were a bunch of armatures, many of which I have yet to identify.

Pictured below are four identical armatures. I am positive they are Lionel. I have both Hannon books, and cannot find them in the books. The armatures are very similar to what was used in the 165 crane, 182 crane, and 30 operating water tower.  (These motors are based upon the prewar Lionel "OO" motor.)
The difference is the length of the lower shaft, and that there are flats pressed into the shaft at the bottom.

I am wondering whether they might be "OO" locomotive  motor armatures.
