Help with 3619 copter | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I rescued several 1960-1962 postwar pieces from an estate but only after a few uninformed folks beat the boxes up a wee bit. The 3619 Helicopter Recon Car comes with a great box and is unbroken and likely only displayed. The copter is confusing; is has the correct windshield, it has the full complement of windows. It doesn't have a built by Lionel label but I have read where that is possible. The confusing part is the color. It appears to be yellow under neath, OR the red has reacted with something. I am looking for help please.

Appears a few yellow plastic pellets were left in the molding machine when the red ones were added. Your helicopter was one of the first ones from a new run of helicopters.

Hi a lot of the helicopters that were made for the HO flat didn't have built by Lionel on the tail.
