I just installed a Cruise Commander into my Williams BL-2. First, remove the existing board in your locomotive. The Williams board used 4 pin plugs to connect to the board so this was pretty easy. Next I had to snip the 4 pin plugs from my off and then connect the pairs of wires to a single wire using a wire nut to effectively turn the hot, common and brush pairs into single wires. I screwed these into the matching terminals. I was able to use my existing board mounting hole to screw the Cruise Commander into place. Then I plugged in the antenna and run/program switch. I didn't bother making a hole for the switch, I'll just remove the cab shell if I need to access it. Finally, I mounted the R2LC board. Whole process took maybe 30 minutes and most of that was readin the instruction manual. The manual is fairly clear though it could be better for first timers. When in doubt, call ERR - I've found them to be very responsive. It seems like a much more daunting process than it really is. Next up I'm going to upgrade a MTH PS-1 locomotive to a Cruise Commander.
