Thank you for your service! Don't worry - it's already there in the next catalog along with some other nice things to go with her.   

PS, we do check in on these threads from time to time and while I can't give you all every one of these, the 1943 isn't the only suggestion on this list that you'll see sometime soon. So feel free to keep the ideas coming.  

Way to go Ryan and Lionel,  that's great news!   Thanks for your reply and for at least looking over these threads.   It's impossible to produce everything that everyone wants,  but I think that this engine will have a wide appeal.

MTH did both not too long. It might discourage Lionel, since tooling up for two locomotives is very costly. But with the 150th anniversary approaching for the completion of the transcontinental railroad approaching, who knows?

A Union Pacific Gas Turbine with lionchief + and Bluetooth. That would be awesome. I'm also encouraged that Lionel does read this post.

The bigger question is, what can the hobbyist (that wishes to keep it simple) buy that is devoid of the complex  motion controls from the 2018 catalog. It seems that Lionel has defined its market in a very narrow high end niche.  There is nothing wrong with this but I just wonder what percentage of the market this represents, and will  future growth result?

LionChief Plus will run in conventional mode with the flip of a switch.  Grzyboski Trains has LC+ Hudsons in two road names for $299, which is a heck of a deal these days. 

I have to admit I like the LC remote a lot more than I thought I would.  The best aspect is that I can walk around the layout and control one engine, while another person can operate the traditional transformer bank.  Works like a charm with my ZW, too.

Since they are doing SD70ACe’s in the next catalog, most likely they will do a NS version.

Hopefully Lionel could look into lower scale fuel tanks on these Dash 8's.

Well, since Lionel is offering a Pilot model of the NYC Niagara, something that I have been moaning about for 2 years or so (me and my big mouth; now I have to buy the d**n thing), I can take that off the wish list.

Hm. That may have been the last thing. At least of those things that any cosmic chance of really being built.

Would it be possible for Lionel to make USRA 0-8-0s with roadname specific details?

I am wondering since in the volume 2 Signature catalog they brought out the Broadway Limited if that they will bring out some of the other great lines of that era? I already know pretty much certain anyway that there will not be a 20th Century Limited next year since Ryan said, "no Hudson's" in the coming catalog(meaning volume 2 and first part of 2018). Makes me wonder though if that we will see a worthy scale Hudson in 2019 to follow a great bunch of the Broadway & Century competition, that would be something else.

Question is though, what would be the rail lines that were in competition of those two that they haven't already modeled in recent years!

If I don't see an Amtrak ACS-64, Viewliners or an E60 soon from somebody......

What I'd really like to see are more accessories.  Especially a return to the Hobo series of accessories.  Campfire, Musical Water Tower, Shed, and old box car camp ground.

I agree on the hobo stuff. The water tower was pretty cool

How about doing the engine from the movie Emperor of the North, McCloud River 2-8-2 No. 19. 

Along with a water tower that is inscribed A No.1 on the 19 to Portland.

Maybe even some with road name specific details such as GTW 5629.  Lionel would have to use the NKP Berkshire tender and an NKP Berkshire headlight to accomplish that.  Or even a new boiler tooling of USRA Heavy Pacifics.

For the freight and passenger cars, ditch the cheap and inferior new trucks and couplers and reinstate the industry leading die-cast sprung trucks and couplers with the hidden uncoupling tabs.

I would prefer the Dash 9's and Not Dash 8's

I totally agree so long as it gets done in Phase IVb. The thing is they'd be very expensive and would sell very quickly, making it hard to get a set. 

Another issue is there would need to be enough cars with different numbers for people like me interested in running 10-11 or even 12 car sets, not 7. Typical consist is 4 coaches, 3 sleepers, 1 transition, diner, heritage baggage/viewliner baggage, and sightseer lounge (plus pacific parlour for coast starlight if you manage to snag a 3rd rail hi level lounge and repaint it). 

If that was overcome and Lionel did it, I would pre order a set in a heartbeat.

MTH already does a good job on the Phase III and IVb versions which I think are in MTH 2018v1 already. The California would be a welcome addition as so far I think only Atlas has made that.
