I've never heard of an L1 being referred to as a Lollipop. Do you know the background?
Interesting, I don't photograph my freight very often. Some of these pictures go back 10 years and many layouts ago!

Hi Ron. I hope all is well It was nice seeing you at York.
I am currently reading Pennsy Power and it says in there that when the Mikados first arrived some crews called them lollipops because they were so long compared to the consols. I hadn't heard it before but it's funny and interesting to me because it shows the progression of these things; as we see it now the Mikes are relatively small compared to the mountains and J1's and certainly compared to western roads' articulateds, etc., but to the crews on the PRR at the time they were quite long compared to a consol.
