How can I turn off the backup lights on the new Lionel FA AA units?

I believe you have to give them each their own I.D.# and then program them as a "lashup" with a TR# 1-9

Unless Lionel changed something, this is how it "used to work".

Rick is right, just assigning them to a single ID doesn't allow Legacy to control the lights properly.

I might consider a set in the future...if the world doesn't end first.

RickO - I bought the CP FA AA set as well but with the Super Bass B unit (1933519) also, and IMO the sound of it is outstanding! (Unfortunately I'm not equipped to provide a video.)

I noticed that Eric Siegel (aka Eric's Trains) in Episode 77 was shown picking up this ABA set at Legacy Station Hobby Shop and I've been waiting for him to do a video review of it but - to date - haven't seen one yet. 

In the meantime I've seen a YouTube video of a chap who's got a SF FA ABBA set (I think it was one of the special runs that Nicholas Smith Trains sold) which you could google to see it run.

Have a A-A set of the T&P F units and the maximum engine sound volume is way lower than on previous units. 

Maybe they're the new "ECO Friendly" models that have more efficient prime movers.

BobbyD - I agree with you on the A units, but the sound/volume of the Super Bass B more than makes up for it. It's at least twice the volume of the A.

RickO - Don't know if you've checked out 'You Tube' to see the video of the Santa Fe FA-2 set that I referred to above, but if you haven't just go on YT and google 'Santa Fe FA A-B-B-A Set - Nicholas Smith Exclusive Set'. The video is 22 minutes long and it should provide you (and anyone else) with as much info as you'd ever want about this set - particularly the Super Bass unit.

PS - The owner has a very nice layout and train room too.

No problem RickO - especially with all the spare time most of us have on our hands these days.

My problem with videos is I can read and understand it far faster in print.  Also, I can save the print and quickly reference it if I need to refresh one point.  With video, it's a major PITA to have to wade through the 90% that I already know to get to one or two items that I would like to see.
